Tooling

Cox Wokingham Plastics has extensive facilities for toolmaking. Tools can be manufactured from wood, resin, modelboard or aluminium depending on the type of moulding method to be used and the tool life required. Aluminium tools can be temperature controlled for critical parts.

We can accept part design information as paper drawings, an existing part to be copied or as electronic data in 2D or 3D formats.

We have a Bridgeport VMC which is used extensively in the toolmaking process. This allows us flexibility in fitting into our customers timescales.

Our CAD/CAM package has extensive functionality for dealing with 2D and 3D Surface and Solid models.

Once tooling and parts have been made our Faro Arm (CMM) can be used to check the tools and parts.

The use of the same CAD data for tool making, CNC programming and part checking eliminates any possible errors from data interpretation or conversion.
